What I liked about the book was that it had an interesting storyline. A girl who is rich and immature, who goes to a poor mature girl. If there was a sequel to this book I would expect ESperanza and Miguel to become better friends. Also I would expect something to happen, like the camp closes, and what happens to Esperanza and her family. The blog helped me to understand this book because if there was something I didn't understand I could ask and someone else would answer. I do although wish that the author hadn't killed Papi so early in the book. I didn't think we should do a quote in this one so I didn't.

I liked that some of this book was based upon real life like the great depression and illegal aliens coming into the United States fom Mexico. If there was a sequal to this book, I would like Esperanza and Miguel to get married because that might change the way they act toward eachother. This blog helped me understand the book because I got to see other people's opinions on the book and that gave me ideas for my blog too. I also wish that Papa hadn't died so early in the book because I would like to see how he would react to his families new life in California. Also, I heard Esperanza saying what Papa WOULD do a lot, but I never found out what Papa would actually do.
Thanks for the idea #24
I also didn't think a quote was in order for this blog.

What I liked about Esperanza Rising is how Esperanza came from a spoiled, snotty, lazy, rich girl, to a hard working nice girl. I know this because on back of the book it says, "Eperanza must find a way to rise above her circumstances." If there were a sequel I would expect Tio Luis and Tio Marco to find out about the Ortega's living at the camp. From there, it would be a dangerous, exciting, adventure of escaping the evils once again. This blog helped me understand the book at times because I could see other peoples answers. One question I still have from the book is that will Tio Luis and Tio Marco ever find the Ortega's. I wish that the Ortega's will be safe.

What I liked about this book is, Anza's life just kept getting worse, before they got better. Then, when they improved, Anza and her friends all felt better, and appreciated life more!
Wow, what a question!!! Here's what I'd expect in the sequel to the novel, in a nutshell!
Here I go:
I'd expect the GD (Great Depression) to be over, First of all. Then I'd say Alfonso and Miguel would take the family to a safer, inexpensive place, to make a new life. Then the Evil Tio's would come and torment the family... until they escape...
This blog helped me a lot with understanding the novel! It gave me an oppurtunity to view peer's ideas, and gives me a chance to express my ideas, online, and help others with the given assignment! What a great idea!
Looks like I've got some questions, too!
1. Will lives ever improve in the Ortega family?
2. Will Esperanza return to her place as a snobby, stuck-up, princess?
3. Will Miguel and Anza leave home and get married, after future experiences?
4. Here's a wish: I hope Pam writes a sequel!
Bye!

one thing i like about this book is that even though anza was burned she got back up and tryed again.
CHAPTER 13
it was a warm spring day and Esperanza was just coming back from the sheds with Marta. The conflict between them had ended when Marta met Abuletia.Ever since then Marta has been like family."Esperanza?" Marta asked "what was your papa like?"
even though it has been a year since he died her thoughts flew to the the dreadful night before her birthday. She remembered colpsing in to a tormented cry as she saw her dear meguil and his father ride up in the carrige with tears in there eyes."Esperanza?"Marta asked again.Becoming acshious after the long silence."Well" Esperanza started with a blank look on her face"He was...full of new suprises..."She continued"he had the most wonderful things to teach me.Follow me and i will show you."She led Marta to the back of the small house she lived in.And layed in the rough crab grass."listen" she wispered just as she had done with Meguil the previous month."i cant hear any thing?" Marta said in a destressed tone."All i hear is a thumping noise." a anoyed look floating to her face."that is all your are soposed to hear.It is the earths heart beat, this is a lesson papa taught me."till the sun went down the two girls lay there reflecting on the previous month. The most woderful thing happend. Her and mama where both ingaed, mama to a charming young man named mario who drove the trucks to and from the sheds, and she to her dear meguil.
the blog helped me understand the book because i saw the ways other people looked at it and tryed there way to.
One wish i have about the book is; that esperanza and meguil would have settled there difreances sooner.
the last one was #9s
What I really liked about this book was that, it was very suspenceful and the author used great descriptive language. Also, that is tought a lesson because it was based on something that did happen. (Great Depresion) and what could happen to anyone. I would expect that Esperanza and Miguel will eithier get married or at the very least start a relashionship. Also, that we would find out what happend to the uncles. This blog helped me unstand the book better because I got to get ideas from the other classmates and see their own point of view. Here are my question that I still have:
1. Did the uncles bother looking for Esperanza and her family?
I also have a wish:
1. I wished that the uncles would have atempted to find them and then like die or something...because they are sooo mean!

What I liked about this book was I got to see how much Esperanza has grown since the begining of the novel. I also liked how Pam changed the plot so seriously, and I liked learning what it was like during the great depression. If there was a sequal to this book, I would expect that Tio Luis and Tio Marco came back into the story. I would also guess that Esperanza might bacome rich again. Also, that Miguel and Esperanza would start out as really good friends. This blog
helped me with this book because I got to hear what other people were thinking. I never knew that so many people could think so creativly. Nice job guys! I also think that this is way more afficent than writing in your readers notebook. It great to hear what other people are thinking!!!
Some questions/wishes that I have about the book are:
?#1
What does Miguel think a Esperanza, still a stuck-up queen?
?#2
Will Esperanza have to stay at that camp and deal with the work?
~*(shooting star, wish)
I wish that Pam Munoz put more action and suspence into this story, I thought it was going to be more of an edge-of-seat novel!!:(
#11
I like the way #22 writes
Superlistic Job!!!
#11
I agree with #17, It would have been nice if Papa hadn't died so soon.
#11
What I liked about this book is that through all 253 pages it shows Esperanza's growth going from mean and snobby to a nice, helpful and caring person. What I think would happen in the sequel, (if there was) would be that Tio Luis and Tio Marco would find Esperanza and her family and Esperanza would be stuck in a drastic situation, (again.) This blog helped me tremendously and I hope #1000 keeps using it through his the years as a teacher. It helped me because if I didn't understand something I could read other peoples answers and take in that imformation I missed or that quote I missed. I also hope that there is a sequel to the book because personally to me, (IT WAS A GOOD BOOK)!!!
#15 :)K :DK :VK
Great job everybody

#22,
I like your bunny and carrot:):):)
#15
I agree with #24,
I think that Papa should have stayed alive longer in the book:)

I hope Pam M. Ryan writes a sequel, just to see what it's like.
Oh, and since #1000 said to attempt a bunny... I'll do it now!

I like that this book is about a girl that who changes drastilly in just one year. She is a brat, a brat, a brat, then boom! She is a hardworking young lady. I think in the sequel Esperanza will marry Miguel, Tio Luis and Marco will find them, burn the camp, and get sued by the goverment be and thrown in jail forever. This blog helped me understand the book by leting me see other people's answers. I wish my prediction about the sequel happened in this book!
#1 the awsome
What I like about this book was that it was suspenceful. At the end of every chapter it left me wondering. I would expect that the uncles find Esperanza and Mama and Tio Luis get married as the punishment for running away. The blog helped me understand something when I didn't get it because I could ask someone else. I wish that there would be a sequel to Esperanza Rising because it was such a good book.
One more thing, #22 I love to bunny can you show me how to do it.
#3
Sure #3!!! Well first of all the easiest thing to do is coppy and paste it...but knowing you , you would want a challenge!

I liked that you never knew what was going to happen in the book. You might've predicted something but it turned out that it was wrong and there was something a new turn or twist in the book. I would expect that you would find out about Marta, her mother and if the strikers came back. This blog helped me understand the book because I got to look at my classmates answers which helped me answer the questions. One question I have is, did Marta or her mom get sent to Mexico? I hope Esperanza's uncles are really mad and that they are sad because they lost Mama. They would deserve it!!!!

Before i start i realized that nobody did the bunny except the inventor (#22)
I liked the book because it was suspenseful and had sad and happy parts. If theres a squel to the book i expect espo to get marryed to miguel. Also, i think the to devils (uncles) will come and sue them for a zillon millon dollars or ecacute (sp) them. the blog helped me understand the book by infering things. Some questions i have are. What happened to the slaves at the ranch? and did the uncles rebuild the ranch.

One thing I liked about this book was when Tio Luis and Tio Marco burned down the house and when Papa was killed.I am not trying to sound like some hippy that listens to the devil, I just like action. Also because it was the main problem!! I would have to say that if there were a sequal to this book
that Esperanza and Miguel will marry. I also think that when the econemy gets better, the Ortega's
will go back to Aguascalientes and get Tio Luis and Tio Marco in trouble for killing papa and burning down the house. Oh,my gosh
this blog helped me soooooo much!
I love to type and since I love to type, I always make my blog LONG!
It also made me think harder, because if you have great ideas, you get coppied and complimented. One question I have about this book
is, Why do Americans hate Mexicans?

What I liked about this book is that in the book there was a rich family who are a good family. They get their house burned down. Finally they go poor and their papa dies and they have to cope with these struggles. If there was a sequal I think Tio Marco would become Mayor and Tio Luis would find mama and marry her. The blog helped me under stand that you can do things much easyer on a computer not a note book. I wish that Esperanza and mama would get the money and be able to go back to Mexico live in a mansion get marryed again and start a new life.
I have question will anyone from Mexico see mama and Esperanza again.

One thing I liked about this book is that Esperanza went from lazy to hardworking. In the begining of the book Esperanza was lazy and rich. She then moves to California and finds out she can't be lazy anymore. If there was a sequel to this book I would expect Miguel to pass down the sound of the earth's "heart beat" to someone who hasn't experienced it. The blog helped me understand the book by allowing me to look at other peoples answers so I could get some ideas. One thing I wish is that Papa hadn't died so early in the book.

I liked that the book had a lot of description. For example, "Delicate and frail, with big brown eyes, long braids, and skinny legs, she looked like a young deer."(p. 86). If there was a sequel to Esperanza Rising, I would expect more tragedy to strike, mabye the camp was burned down or Tio Luis somehow found Mama and Anza. The blog helped me because it gave me the chance to see what my classmates were thinking about the questions. If I could've added another chapter to the book, I would add a scene where Marta shows her true colors for the first time after the deportation, but... Isabella and Miguel will step up and show Marta what happens when you mess with a company camp. MWA HA HA HA HA!!!
}:) *12*
Umm...#12- what's with the scary sound effects? You did a good job but PLEASE don't scare me again!!!
-#14
The thing I liked about this book was the story line. If there were a seaquel to this book I would expect it to be how ever many years later and Miguel an Esperanza to be boyfriend and girlfriend and get married at the end of the book. The blog helps you understand this book more because it is a more fun and interesting way to learn plus you see everyones point of veiw. My question about the book is why didn't she extend the book I mean Abulita just got there and she ended the book. #10 $

Goodness! It looks more like a smushed banana than a mystery bunny! I guess I don't have what it takes to make a bunny like #22 does!:,(
-#14
What I liked about the book was that it was in another part of the world during the great depression. If there was a sequal I think that it would be about Esperanza and Miguel becoming closer friends and Esperanza finding a new home.
This blog helped me because I was able to ask classmates questions if I didn't get something. I wish that Pam Munoz Ryan will make a sequal to this book because it was so good.
#14, I think your mystery bunny is the best so far!!!!!
#22
The thing I liked above anything else about this book is that it teaches kids not to be afraid of challenges and to wait awhile-(or be patient)- if you have to so you can make it through hard times- just like Esparanza did. There are so many possobilities of things that could happen in a sequel for this book but I have to say that I definatly think Esparanza will marry Miguel and that they will move into a house after the depression. This blog helped me to understand the book because if I didn't understand part of the assignment, I could look at other's comments and it would help me to better understand that part. Also, I could look for page numbers so I could find a quote to explain my answer. My biggest wish about this book is that I hope the author continues to write stories about Epsaranza's adventures as she grows up because these stories are outstanding!
-#14
Thank you, #22 for that nice compliment although- I think yours is much better!:)
-#14
Wow! #11 brought up an awsome new word: "superlistic". I'm totally going to start using that word in my writing!:)
-#14
Aww! #3's bunny is SO cute! Also, I love your point- at the end of each chapter it kept me wondering, too!
-#14
Thanks, #1000 for this "superlistic"-(thanks #11)- blog. It was so much fun to type answers and here other's comments aswell. What a great idea!:):):)
-#14
In the book, Esperanza Rising, I liked how at the end the author reflects over Esperanza's life. If there was a sequal to this book I think Miguel and Esperanza would get married. This blog helped me understand the book because I could read what everyone else wrote. I wish this book went longer so we could find out more about what happens to Esperanza and everyone else. (espiecially Marta)
#4
I liked that there was more action in this book because right from the start something important happened (Papa died). I think that in a sequal I think Ezpo and Miguel would getr married. This blog helped me understand the book becuase I coould see everyone else's ideas. I still wonder what happened to Marta and her mother.
